Your past does not define your future.

So many people think their past defines who they are as a person and their future, but it does not. Just because you had a rough upbringing does not make you a bad person; how you decide to handle it and who you decide to become will determine that. I found my drive to become a successful, young woman because of my childhood. I have so much determination from my upbringing and it made me who I am, but it does not define who I am as a person or the future that is yet to come. You can either choose to follow in the footsteps of your past or you can learn and grow from it. -Jess

It's Okay to Not be Okay.

I am sure many of you have heard the phrase "It's okay to not be okay." I never truly thought of the meaning of this phrase until these past few months. If you have kept up with my blog from the beginning, then you know about my struggle with depression. This is a daily struggle I have had to deal with since I was a freshman in high school. You will have your highs and your lows. I want to apologize for stopping the blog for several months. I honestly did not realize how many people kept up with it until I stopped and received messages from people. So here I am again! These past several months have been quite a struggle for me, but it is okay. I am a much stronger person because of it. It really is okay if you are not okay. You can do it. Reach out and get help. I can tell you first hand it is not easy, but it is   worth it. If you need someone to talk to there are so many resources you can reach out to... Never give up. It is not worth it. As I say to myself, "Hold

Life

Well guys, I want to apologize. I am so sorry I have not been on here in awhile. I got so caught up in life. I started to go down the wrong road. Luckily, I have been blessed with amazing people to get me back on track. Remember, it's never too late to start over. When the devil sees you doing so well in life, he will do anything to turn that around. He put some bumps in the road for me, but I was strong enough to get back. I hope you can do the same. Love you all! Go God's way!

Stress

Something that everyone deals with on a daily basis is stress. During this time of the year, many high school students and college students are stressing about the end of the semester. I just want to give a small reminder to give it to God. He is always there for you leading the way. Give it to Him. You have got this. Keep your head up.

Keep Going

One month ago from today, I was going to end it all. I thought I had hit my lowest and I would not be able to get back up from it. Here I am today purely happy with my life. Never give up. Life can be a rollercoaster sometimes, so you just have to wait to go back up.

Faith

Colossians 1:5 Your faith and love continue because you know what is waiting for you in Heaven- the hope you have had since you first heard the true message, the Good News.     You will be tested in your faith each and every day. Some days will be harder than others, but never give up. God has put these obstacles in your life for a reason; He knows you can do this. Each test is a learning experience for you. Each time you are tested in your faith, you grow. Always remember what you have waiting for you in Heaven. Stay Strong.

Love Each Other.

Colossians 3:14 "Together with these things, the most important part of your new life is to love each other. Love is what holds everything together in perfect unity." I chose to share this verse with you because of all the negative things that have been happening in this world recently. It is devastating to watch the news and hear the tragic stories that have happened to our country. We need to love. We need to show our compassion. Prayers to our country and all the people who have been affected by the recent tragedies. Go on and show your love. 💗
