Depression

Today I thought I would talk about something serious and relevant. I found out today someone my sister knew took her life today. After this tragic event, a young girl thought she had the right to make fun and bash this sweet girl saying she only did this for attention. First of all, someone does not take their own life for attention. If you are to the point where you would take your life, then it is serious. This is nothing to joke about. What attention are you trying to get if you are dead? If you are suffering with depression, you are not alone. Depression is common. It is okay. So many people will be there for you. Reach out. I know how hard it can be to feel so alone, but reaching out has been the best thing I did. Talk to someone who you trust. We do not want you hurting. You are loved. You are enough. You are priceless. God gives his biggest battles to his toughest soldiers. You got this. You are a warr;or.

Here's to a new week!

Didn't have the greatest week? That's okay! It's a new week, and it is time to make the best of it! Set your goals and put that smile on your face. You got this.

Your past does not define your future.

So many people think their past defines who they are as a person and their future, but it does not. Just because you had a rough upbringing does not make you a bad person; how you decide to handle it and who you decide to become will determine that. I found my drive to become a successful, young woman because of my childhood. I have so much determination from my upbringing and it made me who I am, but it does not define who I am as a person or the future that is yet to come. You can either choose to follow in the footsteps of your past or you can learn and grow from it. -Jess

If you have kept up with my blog from the beginning, then you know about my struggle with depression. This is a daily struggle I have had to deal with since I was a freshman in high school. You will have your highs and your lows. I want to apologize for stopping the blog for several months. I honestly did not realize how many people kept up with it until I stopped and received messages from people. So here I am again! These past several months have been quite a struggle for me, but it is okay. I am a much stronger person because of it. It really is okay if you are not okay. You can do it. Reach out and get help. I can tell you first hand it is not easy, but it is   worth it. If you need someone to talk to there are so many resources you can reach out to... Never give up. It is not worth it. As I say to myself, "Hold ...
